So not to Forget:

Among all the sites in Europe that were scenes of deportations, the Memorial is today the only one to have remained intact. It pays tribute to the victims of the extermination and serves as a living, dynamic space in which the tragedy of the Shoah can be actively explored and reflected upon.

Not only a place of memory and knowledge, but also a multifunctional centre:

• a space to host meetings, debates and exhibitions that commemorate the atrocities of the past;

• a place to create opportunities for dialogue and exchange between cultures, and to educate young people to overcome linguistic, cultural and social barriers, so that the barbarity of the twentieth century—which found its most extreme expression in the Shoah—may never be repeated.
